Ilchi Seung Heun Lee took office as 2nd president of University of
Brain Education on March 1, 2005. An eminent scholar in Korean traditional
philosophy and brain education, noted writer and admired peace activist,
Lee is the founder of University of Brain Education, the 1st Brain
Education in the world, and in the past decade has devoted to a series
of?worldwide Education for Brain, most recently developed of Brain Education.
In 1985, Lee founded modern Dahnhak for the realization of the old
Korean philosophy Hongik Ingan Ewah Saegae (Widely Benefit All Humanity,
Rightfully Harmonize All World). While developing scientific Dahnhak for
the public, he recognized the incredible impact that the brain has on
the human experience, and then developed brain education using brain respiration
which optimizes the brain¡¯s functions through integrated exercises.
With the establishment of 'Korean Human Research Institute' (the present
of 'Korean Brain Science Research Institute') in 1990, Lee began his
step forward as a scientist in Brain Education. He has held Brain Science
Symposium every year since March 2001 and at the 2003 Brain Science Symposium
drawn a joint research agreement with the Nerve Science Institute of UCI
in California, US. Lee also opened the Ilchi Center for Brain Research
and Brain Research Center, Sedona AZ, US. In August 2004, state of Arizona,
US announced 'International Brain Respiration Week.'
Lee in 2000 was designated as one of the fifty pre-eminent spiritual
leaders of the world at the Millennium World Peace Summit of Religious
and Spiritual Leaders. Having delivering "Prayer of Peace" at
the Summit, he was introduced as a peace activisit in the world. At that
event, he also suggested establishing a 'Peace Park' in the Demilitarized
Zone between South and North Korea.
Lee's many publications include Healing Society (2000), Peaceology
(2003) and Human Technology (2005), as well as many articles in Newspapers.
He also wrote several academic papers in professional academic journals.
Since 2003, Lee has been invited to present speeches and lectures
on brain science and peaceology by several colleges and cities in Japan,
Germany, the UK, and the US. Lee has also kept his interests in poverty
issues of North Korea, Africa, and South Asia and helping them through
the International Kukhak Peace Corps since 1997.
The city of Atlanta, GA proclaimed October 28, 2001 Ilchi Lee Day.
Lee also was awarded the 2002 Phoenix Award by Atlanta GA, US and
appointed as the honorary citizen of Huston and Goodwill Ambassador on
October 17, 2002. Ilchi Lee was awarded the Presidential Medal of
Civil Merit by Korean government for his exploits to promote the national
prestige through spreading Korean spiritual culture around the world in
2002. University for Peace in San Jose, Costa Rica presented a plaque
of appreciation to Ilchi Lee on March 3, 2003. In 2004, the city of
Cambridge MA, US proclaimed September 19 as Ilchi Lee Day.
Currently, he is the president of the World Earth Human Alliance for
Peace and University of Brain Education. He devotes his
time to researching and developing Dahnhak, Brain Education and Peaceology.
He has recently joined forces with the world renowned Changhee Cho,
the inventor of the FMRI, to aid in this research. To this day, Ilchi
Lee continues to put all of his energy into changing the world by educating
people.
Born in Cheonan, South Korea, on April 1st, 1952. Lee spent most
of his childhood in South Korea, a suburb of Cheonan, and was educated
in Dankuk University in Seoul, Korea. He has two sons, Junghan and a son,
Jungwon.
